Resume and CV Writing Services
With over 10 years of experience writing resumes for executive-level professionals, candidates applying for academic positions, and folks re-entering the workforce, I have seen the impact an effective, well-written resume can have. I’ve also seen why so many find themselves unsuccessful in the job search. The application process is daunting, exhausting, and filled with unknowns. How can a candidate ensure they’re creating a great resume AND getting past Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)?
Resume writing is a skill. It’s a skill that requires the ability to unearth valuable qualities and experiences a candidate possesses and then transform those qualities into a language recruiters or hiring managers understand. I so enjoy creating resumes my clients feel reflect their experiences and areas of expertise, but in a more effective and results-oriented way. The impact of this resume writing process far exceeds a piece of paper and often helps my clients better understand what they bring to the table, building confidence for future interviews.
Most of the clients that come my way are referrals from satisfied clients throughout Texas. Opting in for a resume writing service is an investment and is not for everyone. If you’re on the fence as to whether or not it’s worth it, a way I like to think about it is that with each day you’re unemployed, you’re losing a day’s income. Imagine you could be employed just a few days sooner with a great resume. The service will oftentimes pay for itself.
Here’s what my resume writing service looks like:
Free 20-minute phone consultation to see if we’re a good fit and how I can help. We’ll discuss what the job search has been like for you thus far and what you would like to get out of our time together. I’ll also answer any questions or concerns you might have.
You’ll fill out a detailed questionnaire, send me your current resume and 2-3 job descriptions that interest you. These job descriptions help me get started on evaluating which keywords we’ll want to highlight to get you past those dreaded Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
60-minute meeting to go through your experience in-depth. This time really helps me unearth skills, qualities, and outcomes you may think are too subtle to mention, but based on my knowledge of the recruiting world, I know what will appeal to hiring managers. Our session will help me connect the dots, and transform your experience to better reflect the roles you’re interested in pursuing.
Keyword optimization to get through Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS). Some candidates don’t understand why their resume isn’t getting traction. I refer to the online application process as “applying to the black hole.” Your resume may not even be getting on a hiring manager’s desk if you don’t know how Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) sort through resumes. During our meeting, I’ll tell you how Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) work. It’s fun to pull the curtain back for folks and share with them how resumes are sifted.
Personalized resume draft in 2 business days: Every day you’re unemployed is money lost, so I guarantee you’ll receive a first draft of your resume within 2 business days of our 60-minute meeting. The process of writing and creating a resume from scratch that’s personalized just for you is an incredibly rewarding experience for me.
Two rounds of comprehensive revisions based on your feedback through email. I want to ensure you feel great about the product we created and I value your feedback and insight as we try to create a tailored resume for you.
A final resume that is emailed to you in both Word and PDF formats. Overall, this service entails me writing and editing your resume for 3-4 hours.
Resume/CV writing services are $600.

FAQs about my Resume Writing Service
+ Do you have a resume format you use?
Yes. I have proven resume formats I’ve developed and honed over my 10 years of experience writing resumes. The formats differ based on years of experience, as well as industry. No matter what you’re trying to achieve, I ensure your resume is tailored and personalized to meet your needs.
+ Do you create Visual Resumes or Creative Resumes?
I do create visual resumes as an add-on to the resume writing service. Visual resumes are great for creative fields, but not appropriate for most industries or professions. They usually don’t do well in Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), and sometimes they can be perceived by hiring managers as unprofessional.
+ Have you created a Curriculum Vitae (CV)?
Yes, I have a lot of experience creating CVs for those applying to academic positions, research positions, or those wanting to enter graduate school. The requirements of a CV are very different from a traditional resume, and it’s important to portray yourself well.
+ Can I also see you for other career-related topics?
Yes. Sometimes folks who opt-in for the resume service also book a career counseling session to discuss how to conduct an effective job search. I see a lot of candidates holding back on the job search and networking process when they don’t feel confident about their resume. Once they feel good (dare I say, proud?!) of their resume, they’re ready to figure out how to better tackle the job search and all that it entails.
+ Why would I use your services when there are cheaper options?
There are resume writing services out there that cost only $25 and I’m likely not the best fit for those who find that option appealing. Most of the folks I work with are referrals from satisfied clients, but if you don’t know what kind of impact my work can have, it’s understandable if you’re apprehensive. The free, 20-minute phone consultation will help us see if we’re a good fit. I also ensure each of my clients leaves feeling satisfied with their resume.
+ I’ve been out of the workforce for a while. Can you help?
Re-entering the workforce is a daunting experience for most people, and I take great joy in guiding folks through the process and creating a resume they can be proud of. Many of the clients I work with who are re-entering the workforce have valuable volunteer or community experiences they’re unsure if or how to highlight in the resume. It’s rewarding to articulate these experiences in ways that not only create a beautiful resume but also instill confidence and excitement on getting back into the workforce for my clients.
