How do I start?
You can reach out to me a few ways. To schedule a free 20 minute consultation, you can book here or email me directly at hello@tamaraclarkson.com. You can also call me at 281-864-3532. I look forward to hearing more about you and answering any questions.
Who do you work with?
I partner with adults on a range of issues, from depression and anxiety to career fulfillment, burnout and the job search.
How much does a session cost?
Sessions are $190 for your first counseling or career counseling session (60 minutes), then $170 for every session thereafter (45 minutes).
If you take the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and Strong Interest Inventory (SII), they are each $60. If you’re exploring college majors or career options, these inventories can be a great place to start. Wondering what they look look like?
Resume/CV writing services are $600.
Do you take insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider and don’t bill insurance for treatment. If the cost of counseling seems out of reach, we can explore the following options:
Use pre-tax dollars. Did you know that you can use your Health Savings or Flexible Spending Accounts to pay for counseling or career counseling?
Some insurance companies may partially reimburse you for my services as an out-of-network provider. I can provide a “superbill” that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. That means you’ll pay the session fees at the time of our appointment and, depending on your plan, a certain percentage of that may be paid to you by your insurance company. I recommend calling the customer service number on the back of your insurance card to find out what reimbursement will look like for an out-of-network provider.
Check if you or your spouse’s employer has an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). EAP is an employee benefit that provides its users with a specified number of sessions or allotted funds. Many times, the EAP can either cover therapy or career counseling.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept debit, credit, HSA, or FSA cards. Payment is processed at the time of service.
What are your hours?
I conduct sessions from 10 am-2 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. I hold sessions 10 am-5 pm on Fridays. Depending on the time of year, I can sometimes meet earlier or later on a temporary basis.
What is your cancellation policy?
I have a 24-hour cancellation policy. Before your appointment, you’ll receive a reminder email and/or reminder text message, ensuring you have adequate time to reschedule your appointment if necessary. If you aren’t able to cancel within the 24-hour window, you’ll be charged the full fee.
How long is a session? How often should we meet?
Your first session will be 60 minutes so we can go through your paperwork, identify your goals, and discuss how we can work together. Every session thereafter is 45 minutes.
In terms of appointment frequency for counseling, I recommend clients initially schedule for once a week. Many times, after clients make progress, they move to meeting every other week, then every month, then graduate from therapy.
For career counseling or job search coaching, clients typically have a range of 1-8 sessions based on their needs.
What’s the best way to reach you?
The best way to reach me is through scheduling a free 20-minute consultation or emailing me at hello@tamaraclarkson.com. You can also text me at 281.864.3532.
Please keep in mind that email is not a secure form of communication. I encourage you to be discrete about what you share. Also, sometimes emails can get lost in cyberspace so if you don’t hear from me within 48 business hours, please resend your email. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have!
Where are you located?
I offer both online and in-person sessions. My office is located in the Montrose area.
